Woman’s heartache after tragic car crash kills husband and children

A devastating car crash claimed the lives of Tommy Moorehead III, 41, and his two young children—four-year-old son Tommy Jr. and six-year-old daughter Lynnlee—on Saturday in Texas.

The accident occurred when a 2007 Dodge 3500 attempted to pass a 2017 Toyota Tacoma in a no-passing zone on FM-3133, colliding head-on with a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). The Silverado, carrying Tommy and his children, caught fire, killing all three at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge, 63-year-old Rocky Patterson, has been arrested and charged with three counts of manslaughter. He remains in Grayson County Jail with a \$3 million bond.

Tommy’s wife, Brooke Mustard Moorehead, lost her entire family in the crash. A GoFundMe has been created to support her with funeral costs and other unexpected expenses.

“In a single instant, Brooke lost everything,” the fundraiser states. “Tommy was a devoted husband and father. Lynnlee was full of life and curiosity, and Tommy Jr. was just beginning his journey, always smiling.”

Brooke, a longtime employee of a local restaurant, is remembered as loyal, compassionate, and strong. The community is now rallying to support her in this unimaginable loss.

At the time of writing, the fundraiser has raised over \$92,000 of its \$150,000 goal.

This tragic event has deeply affected the local community, and support continues to pour in for Brooke during this heartbreaking time.
