There has been public outrage as a NY newspaper appeared to mock Texans who voted for Donald Trump.
A political cartoonist working for Buffalo News caused outrage after seemingly mocking the victims of the Texas flash floods in Monday’s paper.
The caption read: “Historic flash floods have struck Southern Texas, with at least 82 deaths and dozens more missing,” and appeared to show a MAGA fan wearing a hat and being submerged in water, holding a “HELP” sign. There was a speech bubble above his head which read “Gov’t is the problem not the solution.”
Buffalo News’ editorial cartoonist Adam Zyglis has argued that the text was referencing Trump supporters argument for smaller government getting “swept away”.
