In a recent episode of the reality show The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian revealed unsettling results from a medical brain scan — findings that left her visibly shocked and raised concern about her neurological health. The scan, conducted by psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen, reportedly showed “low activity” in her frontal lobes, prompting urgent discussion about the effects of stress and the burden of an increasingly demanding public life.
The 45-year-old entrepreneur and television personality underwent the brain imaging amid a period of intense pressure in her personal and professional life. She is currently studying for the bar exam in California, while also managing several high-profile business ventures, preparing for the Met Gala, and handling the fallout from ongoing legal matters connected to a robbery trial. On the show, she described her circumstances as overwhelming. “I’m so busy in my life,” she said, listing her competing commitments and adding wryly that even discovering a possible brain aneurysm was just “no biggie.”
When Dr. Amen reviewed the scan results, he told Kardashian that although her brain was otherwise “beautiful” and not showing signs of Alzheimer’s, there were “holes” visible in the imaging. These areas corresponded to reduced activity in the frontal lobes — a region associated with stress management, decision-making and emotional regulation. The doctor cautioned that with her frontal lobes functioning at less than optimal levels, she might struggle to cope with stress effectively at a time when her schedule and responsibilities are exceptionally demanding.
Kardashian’s reaction was one of disbelief. She told the camera: “That just can’t be… Not accepting.” But despite her shock, she acknowledged the need to make changes. She said she needed “a plan to really figure this out,” especially given the many things she had coming up in the summer. The scan came only a week after she disclosed a previously discovered brain aneurysm, which she suggested could have been triggered or worsened by chronic stress — including pressure from a public divorce, parenting, and business obligations.
