Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was taken to a Washington, D.C., hospital on Tuesday after experiencing an allergic reaction, according to a spokesperson.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin confirmed the incident, stating, “Out of extreme caution, she was taken to the hospital. She is awake and getting better.”
CNN reported that Secretary Noem has remained alert and in contact with her security team throughout the ordeal.
Several Secret Service officers were seen stationed at various entrances of the emergency room where Noem was admitted, underscoring the seriousness with which the situation was handled.
