A 22-year-old woman from Airdrie has left her family and friends in shock after it was revealed that the baby she claimed to have given birth to was actually a lifelike doll. Kira Cousins had spent months pretending to be pregnant, sharing scan photos, baby bump videos and even images of what she said was her newborn daughter, named Bonnie-Leigh. The elaborate deception reportedly lasted more than a year before the truth came out.

Friends said Kira had worn a fake pregnancy bump, posted photos of ultrasound scans, and received gifts from people who believed she was expecting. She allegedly went as far as posting messages celebrating the “birth” of her child and thanking friends for their support. Her social media pages showed pictures of baby clothes, prams and toys, all reinforcing the story that she had become a mother.

For months, few people questioned her claims. But suspicion began to grow when those close to her noticed inconsistencies. Some said the baby was never seen crying or moving, and Kira often made excuses when asked if anyone could hold her. Others noticed that some of the pictures she shared appeared to show a doll rather than a real infant.

The truth reportedly came to light when Kira’s mother made the discovery herself. Family members were left horrified when they realised the baby was not real. According to relatives, Kira had even told some people that the child had died after complications, deepening the distress and confusion surrounding the situation.
