President Donald Trump is facing renewed scrutiny over his health after a visible and unexplained bruise on his hand sparked concern among medical professionals, who now warn it could be a sign of something far more serious than a minor injury.

The mark, first spotted during a White House meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on February 24, 2025, has persisted for weeks, leading to widespread speculation. While initially dismissed by Trump aides as a harmless bruise, a vascular surgeon now says it may point to a dangerous condition — including the possibility of a blood clot.

Dr. Pamela Kim, a vascular specialist with the Center for Vein Restoration (CVR), has weighed in, warning that many people mistake early symptoms of chronic venous disorders or clots for minor bruises.

“Many patients come to us weeks after noticing what they thought was a simple bruise, but in reality, it was an early sign of a vein disorder or even a blood clot,” Dr. Kim said. “Knowing the difference can be lifesaving.”
