Elon Musk has publicly responded to newly released records referencing him in the late Jeffrey Epstein’s schedules, calling headlines about his inclusion “utterly misleading” and insisting he refused invitations to travel to Epstein’s private island in the US Virgin Islands. “Shame on Sky News for this utterly misleading headline,” Musk wrote on X after sharing a story about the disclosure. “Anyone pushing this false narrative deserves complete contempt. Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I REFUSED, yet they name me even before Prince Andrew, who did visit.”

The remarks followed publication by House Oversight Committee Democrats of a six-page sample from a broader cache of estate records that include calendar entries, phone logs, flight manifests and ledgers. One page, dated December 2014, carries the line: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?),” an apparent note in Epstein’s daily schedule. The same packet shows other high-profile names on calendars, including a “7:00am BREAKFAST w/Steve Bannon” on February 16, 2019, and a “12:00pm LUNCH w/Peter Thiel” on November 27, 2017; a flight manifest lists “PRINCE ANDREW” as a passenger on May 12, 2000, alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The materials, released with redactions, do not by themselves establish that the meetings or trips occurred and do not allege criminal conduct by those named.

Democrats on the Oversight Committee said the documents were the third tranche received from the Epstein estate under subpoena, describing 8,544 items in the latest production and arguing the records advance the effort to reconstruct Epstein’s network. “It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world,” a committee spokesperson said, adding that Democrats “will not stop until we identify everyone complicit in Epstein’s heinous crimes.” Republican committee aides accused Democrats of “cherry-picking” and said additional releases would follow after redactions to protect victims. Shame on Sky News for this utterly misleading headline. Anyone pushing this false narrative deserves complete contempt.
