Elon Musk QUITS Trump Admin After Slamming the “Big, Beautiful Bill” — Here’s What Happened

In a political twist no one saw coming, tech titan Elon Musk has officially stepped down from his role in President Donald Trump’s administration — and he didn’t go quietly.

Musk, who had been serving as Senior Advisor and head of DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), left just hours after President Trump revealed his controversial new legislation: the so-called “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”

Because he believes the bill betrays everything DOGE stood for.

“It increases the deficit instead of reducing it. It undercuts our entire mission,” Musk said in a televised interview. He didn’t hold back, calling it a massive step backward for government reform and accountability.

The bill — which includes tax breaks for middle-class Americans, border wall funding, and stricter work requirements for benefits — also adds $4 trillion to the debt ceiling. That didn’t sit well with Musk, who’d pledged to help cut $1 trillion in waste.

Trump addressed the drama head-on in a press conference, delaying another major appointment just to respond:

“Look, we need votes. We had to get it through the House. No Democrats supported us. If they had their way, taxes would skyrocket 65%. This bill is still the biggest tax cut in history, and middle-income Americans will benefit the most.”
