A horrifying school shooting in Minneapolis has left two children dead and at least 17 others injured after a gunman stormed Annunciation Catholic School during morning mass. Authorities have identified the shooter as 19-year-old Robin Westman, a transgender woman whose own mother had once worked at the school.
The attack unfolded on Wednesday morning, sending shockwaves through the community and reigniting fierce debate across America about gun laws, mental health, and how tragedies of this scale are politicised.
In the hours before the massacre, a disturbing 20-minute video was uploaded to YouTube by Westman. In it, she described feeling “good” about committing what she called a “devastating tragedy.” She displayed a rifle magazine labelled with the words: “For the children, hahahahahahaha.”
Authorities later confirmed that Westman entered the school grounds armed with three weapons – a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol – all of which had been legally purchased.
