After years of living in one of Los Angeles’ most prestigious neighbourhoods, Angelina Jolie is preparing to close a major chapter of her life. The Oscar-winning actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian is planning to sell her storied Los Feliz mansion — a property steeped in Hollywood history — and relocate abroad once her youngest children become adults.

The Maria star, now 50, purchased the estate in 2017 for a reported $24.5 million, at the time making it one of the most expensive residential sales in the area that year. Built in 1913, the sprawling 11,000-square-foot home boasts six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, sweeping views, and lush, landscaped grounds. But beyond its grandeur, it holds a unique place in the fabric of early Hollywood.

Originally acquired by legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille in 1916 for less than $28,000, the property once neighboured a home owned by Charlie Chaplin. DeMille eventually bought Chaplin’s house and combined the two estates, creating a private enclave that would become synonymous with the glamour and ambition of the film industry’s golden era.

A source close to Jolie described it as “a historic masterpiece and truly such a beautiful estate,” adding that she intends to make minor upgrades before it goes on the market. “It’s the kind of home you don’t just live in — you become part of its history,” they said.
