Three young sisters were found dead near a Washington campground after leaving home for a “planned visitation” with their father, authorities confirmed Monday.
Paityn Decker, 9; Evelyn Decker, 8; and Olivia Decker, 5, were discovered on June 2 near the Rock Island Campground in Chelan County following an extensive search, police said.
An autopsy completed on Friday revealed the cause of death was suffocation, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide, according to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
The sisters had been missing since May 31 after leaving for a scheduled visit with their father, according to the Wenatchee Police Department.
